The Pakistan Cricket Board (also known as PCB) has officially announced its most exciting campaign yet. The PCB Talent Hunt Program 2025. It’s a golden opportunity for aspiring cricketers across Pakistan to turn their cricket dreams into reality. The registration process, which started earlier, has already attracted more than 4,400 educational institutions. This includes 2,939 schools, 1,474 colleges, and 58 women’s colleges. The online registration for this first-of-its-kind initiative ended on 10 May. The aim is to scout, identify, and nurture promising players who could represent Pakistan at higher levels of cricket. With such a structured and well-curated approach, this program marks a new era in the development of sports talent in the country.
As someone who’s closely followed and written about Pakistan’s cricket for years, I can say this is one of the most ambitious and professional talent hunt efforts we’ve seen. After the institution registration, the PCB will now scrutinise all entries before moving to the player registration stage. Regions like Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, FATA, Islamabad, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have shown strong participation. For instance, 1,218 schools registered from Punjab, 777 from Sindh, and so on. Interestingly, among the women’s colleges, 26 were from Sindh, 25 from Punjab, five from KPK, and one from FATA.
